We Are PRIME
At SWP, we believe that best practice should be standard practice and are committed to working in a more sustainable way for both the environment and our people.
In 2021, SWP became signatories to the Building Services Engineers Climate and Biodiversity Declaration as well as the first members of PRIME Principals for responsible business.
We are committed to:
– Providing renewable energy and low carbon measures by default.
– Collaborating with the design team on thermal performance and airtightness.
– Reducing material and energy use by avoiding over-design and applying effective controls.
– Prioritise the use of low-temperature heating linked to heat pump technology.
– Using digital collaboration tools to reduce unnecessary travel.
As a member of PRIME, we have a great forum and opportunities to share ideas and best practices between other like-minded businesses whilst also having a clear structure on which to further improve our business.
The PRIME principles are:
1) Being Environmentally Better;
2) Embracing Sustainable Innovation;
3) Spreading the Word;
4) Delivering Impact;
5) Making a Difference; and
6) Being Accountable.
The PRIME system does not allow us to “buy a badge” or “set a target and walk away” but it does reward continuous small improvements and to make a real difference, we believe that the PRIME Principles need to become ingrained in our organisations everyday culture and we are going to try and make that so.
We obtained our first official PRIME score of 13 in March 2022 and have set a target of 15 for 2023. You can see our progress and how SWP measures up against each PRIME principal by clicking on our PRIME Score.
